Park Food Fest

Park Food Fest brings together the best of street food and show cooking to offer a memorable and delicious experience for all types of food lovers. Popular restaurants from Novigrad and the wider NW Istria region will showcase their creative dishes, made from the freshest local ingredients and served as gourmet bites that visitors can enjoy in a relaxed atmosphere.

With stunning sea views and a vibrant festival vibe, the experience will be as enticing as the food itself. The street food concept at Novigrad’s Park Food Fest breaks away from traditional culinary rules, offering a brand-new, diverse, and unique gourmet experience. Savour the flavours of northwestern Istria, where chefs highlight the modern and creative side of Istrian gastronomy, while still preserving the authenticity of traditional cooking principles.

The theme of the autumn edition of Park Food Fest is Istrian cuisine, meaning you can expect a wide selection of local dishes based on fish, seafood, meat, pasta, and wild herbs. From noon until evening, visitors can enjoy live cooking performances in the old town harbour and the beautiful Park of Novigrad’s fishermen. Alongside the food, there will be an extensive selection of white and red wines from NW Istria, as well as local craft beers. Families with children are more than welcome. The Park of Novigrad’s fishermen will transform into a haven for children’s entertainment, offering creative and educational games and workshops, taking place in the afternoon on both days. Pleasant and upbeat music will create the perfect backdrop for enjoying the event, with DJs and live bands performing a mix of local and international hits.

The festival will also feature two additional events that perfectly complement the gastronomic experience, with activities for both adults and children. Organised by the Boletus Mushroom Society, the Mushroom Days event will lure you into the Mandrač harbour with an impressive mushroom exhibition and a delicious menu featuring mushroom specialties, including the famous mushroom stew. The 20th anniversary of the Ex Tempore Painting Contest, which attracts painters enamoured with the photogenic charm of Novigrad, will be held on Sunday, November 3rd, in the renewed green and floral oasis of Park Irma Benčić. Throughout the day, this space by the picturesque Mandrač harbour will be buzzing with activity, as artists work from morning until afternoon on their creations, which will then be judged by a panel.
