After being dumped by his extremely wealthy 80-year-old wife for a younger man after 25 years of marriage, spoiled but penniless gold digger Maximo (Eugenio Derbez) is forced to take matters into his own hands—perhaps for the first time in his otherwise luxurious life.
As a result, the aging gigolo has no choice but to seek refuge with his estranged sister, Sara (Salma Hayek), a widow, and her 10-year-old son Hugo. Determined to return to a life of luxury, Maximo uses Hugo to meet a rich widow—only to learn that love and trust must be earned.
