The whole concept of the Colours Of Tennis for me is an unprecedented story. It is truly wonderful when we can witness the humanity and goodness of the sports world. All tournament participants pay a fee of HRK100 thereby crowdfunding the purchase of a radiological device for the Health Center in Umag. This is actually the most important, and as far as I am concerned, quite sufficient reason to come visit and participate in this worthy event.
All the kind-hearted participants who do visit the tournament can look forward to a real tennis treat as they will get a chance to play a game of tennis with some well-known names. Miro Ungar, famous entertainer and the legendary water polo player Dubravko Šimenc, both participants of the first edition, have announced their intention to take part again, which is another great reason to visit Umag and to try your luck in the court, all for a greater good work.
This year, they will be joined by Silvio Marić, former member of the Croatian national soccer team, actor Petar Ćiritovic, magician Luka Vidović, and Croatian national basketball team coach Dražen Anzulović.
Regardless of whether you are an amateur or a professional, a young player or somewhat of a veteran, the Colours Of Tennis offers you the opportunity to take up the racket and play for your own fun. Tennis lovers will surely agree that there is no better feeling than going out on that court and serving that ball, successfully of course!
The organizers point out that entertainment is guaranteed to all visitors, viewers and fans because they have prepared a Snack, Beer & Wine point. There will also be a music program, featuring the popular Istrian group Febra. In great company, there is always a good party, and I do not doubt that, at these points, many new friendships will begin.
In short, if you are full of sports spirit and love socializing, then you should not miss this event. If you are not great at tennis, do not despair. In addition to the music points and bingo accompanying the tennis events, there is always the awesome city of Umag to explore – a city that breathes history, nature and sports.
