The Belveder restaurant has not only good food but a great view as well, since it’s situated just a few meters from the sea. It’s located between Dajla and Karigador, and if you find yourself there, be sure to try the famous fish menu, the reason this restaurant has an excellent culinary reputation in Northwestern Istria. For those who like eating by the sea, there’s also the restaurant and pizzeria Lungomare. You won’t get closer to the sea than here: the restaurant is next to a beach and it offers a variety of pastas, pizzas and barbecue dishes, typical of a seaside meal.
Buje has joined the competition! The David restaurant, in the small town of Kaštel, near the Croatian-Slovenian border, is a quaint little place to have brunch at. It offers exquisite Istrian cuisine. Apart from being wonderfully done up in a traditional Istrian style, another advantage is that it’s pet friendly. And it offers a variety of vegetarian dishes! If you come here for brunch or lunch, be sure not to miss the truffle ice cream for dessert!
The Malo selo tavern is an excellent choice, if you’re near Buje. They offer superb local cuisine and are especially famous for their pasta with truffle sauce and Istrian beef dishes, as well as good prosciutto and homemade bread, not to mention juicy steaks of impressive size.
Who would have guessed that the tiny and cute town of Brtonigla hides such a treasure? The San Rocco hotel is one of the best boutique hotels in Croatia and its excellent restaurant is considered one of the finest one in the country. However, the owners of the hotel wanted to offer something more to their guests, so they opened the Primiza Food & Wine in the very center of Brtonigla. Let your desire for a tasty pizza or for finely barbecued meat and great wine lead you there.
Tasty morsels of raw fish prepared in the Umag restaurant Badi are something you won’t easily forget. Raw fish is one of the local specialties, so if you’re a fan of sushi, be sure to drop by!
