This year’s Istria Wine and Walk, held in Buje and its surroundings, has gathered more than 600 participants who enjoyed the top offer of local winemakers and delicious Istrian delicacies at seven points. Our guests were greeted by Istra Inspirita, the joyful company who introduced them with stories and songs about wine to the whole story of this year’s Istria Wine and Walk. A brief spring shower did not stop anyone from enjoying themselves!
What we found especially pleasing was the fact that this year we have recorded an increase in the number of foreign guests, which means that our wine story has already spread widely!
A good atmosphere was there from the very first stop point of our visit where we sampled the wines of Franković and Kozlović as well as the lovely bruschetti with Istrian pancetta jam provided by the restaurant Oštarija Rondo. At the next stop we had the opportunity to taste the treasures of Celege Winecellar and by Andrea Basanesse and to enjoy a Boškarin beef salad by the Oliveto restaurant – all accompanied by accordion music.
At the third stop, we were welcomed by some irresistible Malvasias and Merlots by the Ravalico Winery, while our palates were taken care of by family farms Radošević and Duniš. Truffle cheese, prosciutto and dried ombolo pork loin… in one word – yum!
The next point was located in the Škarline Natural Park, where the participants took the opportunity to take some photos of the green idyllic scenery while enjoying Coronica wines and excellent Istrian burgers. Here we also met some new friends – a pony and a donkey from Radini ranch!
The fifth destination was hosted by Cattunar Winery, and the food was by the Food & Wine Primizia. On the menu were asparagus polenta and fried špaleta pork ham. Divine!
At the penultimate stop, our cups were filled by the Cuj Winery, and our bellies with delicious hunting soup by the Morgan Taverna and Buršić family farm. At this point, guests were having such a good time they started singing which continued at the Veralda Winery, our final stop. With song and dance, we enjoyed the lovely Veraldin Rose with some sweet strucolo dolces.
