Of course, biska, medica and teranino are implied as it is simply rude not to welcome guests with a fine Istrian brandy. Now that we have warmed up our souls and triggered gastric juices, we need to have a bit of a snack before we hit the dance floor. The tempting Malvasia, with its agile and lean yet full body, will be your ideal dance partner at the beginning of the evening. In all honesty, none will blame you should you remain faithful to her during the entire Eve.
However, in Northwestern Istria, love is free and your Malvasia will not be angry if, after a meaty main course, you replace it with a strict and authoritative, but at the same time naughty and devious Teran. Teran’s passionate juicy kisses quickly sway the mind while leaving its treacherous mark on your lips.
While you were enjoying yourself with Teran and Malvasia, you didn’t even notice that midnight has come so much closer. Fortunately, the best Istrian sparkling wines that our top winemakers produce in almost innumerable imaginative variants are already in the ice bowls – the Chardonnay and / or Malvasia sparkling wine are always a good choice. But if your craving for adventure does not wane even in the first seconds of the new year, we certainly recommend a toast with a Teran sparkling wine, which will make it clear to you at first sip that a new age has come, one in which nothing is as it was before.
A rational consumption of champagne is a true art in itself, one that we have never learned to master. Do learn from our mistakes and boldly cut through the wildest night by going straight for dessert. By dessert, of course, we mean dessert wines. The choice will not be easy because both the Rosé and the Momjan Muscat are top options for the further lifting your mood, so try to remember that you don’t really have to choose! In Northwestern Istria, your right to enjoy yourself is the only law, and in any case, good manners dictate that everything laid out on the host’s table needs to be, at the very least, sampled.
