It’s not a bad idea to keep in mind a couple pieces of advice, so that you might capture that beauty with your camera and make that one special photo that will perfectly depict your summer.
Since we Westerners are used to viewing photos from the left to the right, which is the same way we read, it’s better if the focus of your photo’s attention is in the left half of the photo. Such composition holds our gaze longer and is more pleasing to the eye.
You’ll make the most interesting photos in the early morning or early evening, while the summer sun throws long shadows.
Make no mistake: the sea will be the star of most of your photos. To avoid monotony, try approaching these photos in a fresh way. Put something in the foreground (a palm tree, a lavender bush, a boat), capture part of the shore, some flying seagulls or perhaps people swimming in the distance…
Try to capture those spontaneous moments. Photograph your children laughing, jumping into the sea, dancing or enjoying ice cream. After all, these are the things that will put a smile o your face when you’re looking through your photographs later.
