If you want to be part of the growing cycling market, the EUROBIKE fair in the German town of Friedrichshafen is the place to be…which is why we made sure we visited it, too. EUROBIKE is an event that is held in 11 newly-constructed fair halls, with additional open-air facilities that host a spectacular programme including races of cycling professionals, competitions in bicycle jumping and a Eurobike Party for all visitors of the fair.
A conference titled TRAVEL TALK was also held as part of the fair, at which visitors had the opportunity to hear all kinds of experiences related to cycling tourism and listen to some interesting lectures about current trends and figures in cycling and cycling tourism.
We talked to several visitors of the fair, all of them lovers of cycling, about the importance of this fair, cycling in Istria and other topics related to cycling.
I came to the fair to see what’s new on the cycling market. I have a house in Istria, and I think it’s the most beautiful part of Croatia and that it is perfect for cycling. To those who haven’t visited Istria yet, I recommend a visit to Učka mountain because it is great for MTB cycling, while inland Istria also has great cycling tracks (Buzet, Motovun, Buje, Labin, Rabac). When it comes to non-cyclists, I’d like to point out that Istria has the best sea quality on the Adriatic coast, a wide array of water activities, great hotels and an excellent offer of food and wine (olive oil, Malvasia).
I’ve been coming to the Eurobike fair for years now because it is a good and important way of maintaining contact with tourist agencies in the sector and gathering new information on cycling tourism. I’ve been to Istria many times; it’s a place with plenty of good options for cycling and many other events and activities. For all of those who haven’t been to Istria yet, make sure to visit because the sea is very beautiful, the culture is diverse and fascinating and it is a great place for lovers of adventure. I haven’t participated in the Istria Granfondo marathon yet, but I would really love to do so next year – this event is known to be important and successful in Italy.
I’ve been coming to the Eurobike fair since 1999 as an exhibitor, and I’ve noticed that the event is improving every year and becoming better and better. I went to Istria on holiday twice and my impressions are nothing but positive. I was delighted by the wide offer of active holiday activities and the cuisine. Istria has excellent conditions for cycling tourism and MTB cycling and has good tracks by the sea.
This is already my fourth time at the Eurobike fair. I’m a recreational cyclist, though I sometimes compete, too, so I’m always interested in new tourist spots I can visit. I’m very well-acquainted with the cycling tracks in Northwest Istria and visit them regularly throughout the year, and I particularly like that the tracks are well-marked. I have also participated in Istria Granfondo. I’d like to recommend to all of those that haven’t been to Istria yet to come as soon as possible, not just for the excellent cycling events such as Istria Granfondo, but also for the diverse offer of food and wine and the great parties.
