There is no Restart button
I have to admit that sometimes I need to remind myself that neglecting the symptoms of chronic stress can easily become a more serious issue, and the hectic pace of our daily lives and the juggling act between work and private life makes us women the most common target of this symptom of the modern lifestyle. Unfortunately there is not Restart button on our bodies, but there definitely is a solution.
Wellness as a lifestyle
For me wellness is much more than a massage or a cosmetic treatment. It is a philosophy and a lifestyle, and it is about adopting habits that have long-term effects not only on our health, but also on our quality of life. To put it short: indulge your body and you will strengthen your spirit! A good meal, a warm bath, a short meditation, a dance to your favorite tune, a home-made facial mask, a relaxing massage… These are all small details that we can find time to enjoy in the privacy of our own homes. Just imagine how different life would be if you could find the time for one little ritual every day…
What I like to do after a long day at work is to take a nice long aromatherapy bath, with calming mix of lavender and German chamomile as my winning combination. Sometimes I will complete the experience with a body massage using natural body butter bar with no chemical preservatives.
Northwest Istria, the land of wellness
Still, from time to time, you need to take that extra step. Actually, a few extra steps, or a few hundred miles, all the way to Northwest Istria! In addition to the infrastructure, I chose this region for its long tradition of health and beauty services, and the diverse and imaginative selection of treatments they offer. All that remains for me to do now is to make the tough choice of the wellness center and treatments that I want. Studying the services of the Sol Garden Istria Hotel in Umag, I was most intrigued by the treatments with nutritious honey and relaxing lavender, my favorite aroma. The popular local truffle-based treatments also sound interesting, but unfortunately the intense aroma of truffles is not my cup of tea. Considering how addicted I became to exotic treatments in my visit to Asia, I am so happy I no longer need to go further than Melia Coral Hotel, in whose Fusion Spa Center I would delight in giving myself over to the confident hands of therapists from India and Thailand. I have no doubt that my body would recover its natural vitality and harmony within a single weekend!
Since I am no stranger to the benefits of the sauna, but I have never tried the Istrian stone sauna, the next stop on my wellness route will definitely have to be Hotel Maestral in Novigrad, which I warmly recommend to all fans of traditional treatments. The medicinal properties of an olive oil massage have been known since the time of Cleopatra, and they have been a passed down by generations of women in my own family, so I wouldn’t mind getting a treatment with it at the San Rocco wellness center either.
The Rosseta Hotel in Savudrija intrigued me with a combination of sauna, lymphatic drainage, and anti-stress massage. It sounds ideal for women who like their pleasure to be practical as well. And to be honest, don’ we all?
The cherry on top are the two treatments on offer at the wellness center of Mulino Hotel. The wine and chocolate therapies sound simply irresistible, and I can’t wait to try them both out as soon as possible!
